Wells Valley veer more towards the post-metal side; think an elevated Neurosis or Cult of Luna instead of doubly heavy Morbid Angel riffs. All comparisons aside, it doesn’t really matter — we like!
“Sacred Mountain” is murderous, Machiavellian in its mischief but always pinpoint accurate in its purpose. It’s a chilling composition that condemns the listener to shivering depths where sunlight is but a mere myth.
There is certainly nothing generic about Wells Valley. The trio are obviously extremely talented musicians, but they also know exactly how to create an album that brings something new to the post-metal/sludge scene.
